Remove Grilles and Oil the Motor

Well, let's dive right in by removing the protective side grille so we can access the inside and outside of the condenser coil. In some units, you may have to also remove the top pannel that protects the fan and motor, but your situation may be different depending on the unit.

Removing the grille is a pretty easy job. Start by removing the screws that are holding the top and side pannels onto the frame using your philips, flat head, or socket drivers (if necessary). Now carefully pull the side grille away from the unit and carefully lift off the top pannel. Please note that this top pannel may also support the fan motor so be careful! Locate the fan motor and fan blade oil ports and use a few drops of lightweight oil in each port.
